My Name is James Phan. Born in Viet Nam, raised in California, I spent much of my childhood lost in television, film, video games, and anime. The worlds I experienced through these mediums enriched my imagination and helped develop a fascination with imagery that could advance a narrative. I am a visual storyteller. I want to bring characters in sci fi & fantasy to life. Working with popular media and being aware of the dedicated nature of their fan base, I am forced to know and replicate exact details. There is no room for error; costumes, location, styling, props, makeup - you name it; it has to be precise. Through my images I want people to get a feel for who the characters are, their world, and their story. For them to be as immersed in the worlds as I am. I want to add to the world of imagination.
